The Sisterhood Auxiliary was established at Greater Christ Temple Church in 1960 under the pastoralship
of the late District Elder W.W. Harris. The vision for this auxiliary was given to the late Evangelist Mary L. Harris, who
organized the sisters into a unified group. The sisters of Greater Christ Temple church came together for the purpose of teaching
saved women how to become better wives and mothers. Instructional and practical guidance were provided on topics relative
to how wives should care for their homes and nurture their children, become good companions and friends to their husbands,
financial matters, and etc. More importantly, the sisters were taught the true meaning of holiness as it pertains to being
different from the secular world. Emphasis was placed on women of God demonstrating through appearance and lifestyle the true
meaning of being a virtuous woman as defined in Proverbs.
The Sisterhood Auxiliary meets on the second Monday of each month in the Fellowship Hall at Greater Christ Temple church.
The meetings are from 7:30 to 9:00 p.m. Meetings are open to all females, regardless of church affilation. However, officers
of the Sisterhood Auxiliary are restricted to official female members of the church. All meetings are conducted following
a modified version of Roberts Rules of Order and follow the standing meeting agenda format used when conducting business.
Meetings conclude with a thirty minute developmental session geared towards enriching the spiritual and natural lives of attendees

Currently, the Sisterhood's major focus in the church is to motivate each sister to (1) aspire
for a higher level of life; (2) become women as professing godliness with good works; (3) work hard to erase the negativism
that overshadows our churches and the world today; and (4) work diligently to reach each sister regardless of age, status,
race, or background. The following goals are aimed at achieving the aforementioned focus: (1) encourage sisters to attend
established prayer meetings; (2) assign a big sister to every younger sister based on spiritual and chronolocgical age; (3)
coordinate programs, workshops, and seminars stressing virginity, virtue, self respect, personal hygiene, financial stability,
life-long spiritual and natural learning and knowledge, and appropriate appearance; (4) discussion of problems and solutions
to those problems at meetings that will benefit everyone; and (5) fellowship and promote extreme (agape) love for each other.
